About
Ceramic.lv
Welcome to Ceramic.lv. If you’ve ever felt the quiet thrill of holding something you made with your own two hands, you’re in the right place.
The Story Behind Ceramic.lv
Ceramic.lv started with a simple idea – to create a place where people could slow down, work with their hands, and experience the satisfaction of making something from clay.
We believe ceramics isn’t about making perfect objects. It’s about the process: centering the clay, learning through trial and error, and discovering that every piece carries the marks of the person who made it.
Our studio is open to anyone, whether you’ve never touched clay before or have years of experience. We teach the techniques, share what we’ve learned, and encourage you to find your own way of working. There are no expectations to get everything right the first time.
Over time, Ceramic.lv has become more than a ceramics studio. It’s a place where people come to learn, experiment, meet others, and take a break from the pace of everyday life. We hope that what you make here stays with you long after your pottery has left the kiln.
Our Philosophy
We believe ceramics is for everyone. Working with clay is not about perfection—it’s about curiosity, patience, and the joy of creating something with your own hands.
In a fast-moving world, our studio is a place to slow down, learn through the process, and celebrate the beauty of handmade objects.

Hi, I’m Zane
In my practice, I draw inspiration from the gentle wisdom of Ikebana—the Japanese art of flowers that teaches harmony, balance, and the beauty of what is left unsaid. It reminds me that every ceramic piece needs space as much as form. A vase is not only made to hold flowers, but to frame a single branch, a quiet moment, or the changing seasons.
I also carry Kaizen close to my heart—the philosophy of continuous, almost invisible improvement. One smoother curve today, one more confident pull on the wheel tomorrow, one glaze that reveals something unexpected after the kiln. These small steps shape not only the clay but also the hands and mind of the maker.
Pottery has a way of slowing time. Clay doesn’t respond to force or hurry; it rewards patience, attention, and a willingness to begin again. Every bowl, mug, or vase is a conversation between your hands, the material, and the process itself.
As your guide in the studio, I won’t hand you rigid rules or expect perfection. Instead, I’ll help you understand the fundamentals of ceramics while encouraging you to experiment, trust your instincts, and discover your own way of working with clay. Whether you’re touching a pottery wheel for the first time or returning after years away, there’s always something new to learn.
Here, mistakes are welcomed, silence is respected, and every piece—perfect or beautifully imperfect—is part of the journey. My hope is that you’ll leave not only with a handmade ceramic piece, but also with a deeper appreciation for the craft, the process, and the quiet joy of creating something with your own hands.
